Manchester Population: 54,740
  Manchester is a small village just east of Hartford with tree-lined streets, brick buildings and cozy older homes. A barrage of specialty stores and restaurants huddle together in the downtown. Live theater and concerts light up the stage at Cheney Hall in the historic district; summertime concerts under the stars are a hit at the Band Shell. With more than 1000 acres of parkland, there are loads of activities available in this pleasant New England town.
     
New London / Groton Population: 25,671
  Home of the largest submarine manufacturer in America, Groton is a medium-sized oceanfront community. The first nuclear submarine (USS Nautilus) was built here in 1954, and has now been put on public display in the shipyard. Several instructional cruises set out to identify marine animals and to learn about the 1909 New London Ledge Lighthouse. Outdoor activities are favored here with many resources for hiking, fishing, swimming, skating and biking.

  Storrs is a charming rural village with rolling hills, winding roads and Colonial homes scattered on wide spreads of land.
